How Should You Use a Balloon Color Chart to Approve an Order?
Updated 17 September 2026
A screen image is a good way to start choosing balloon colors. It is not our final color standard. For the order, we work from the physical sample you approve, or a comparison photograph with the inflated balloon beside the Pantone color card. Keeping that reference clear is more useful than trying to settle a shade difference from two phone screens.
Choose the correct color family
| AIHUA name | What it means in our range | Where to choose |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Color | The familiar, conventional colors; also called Matte Round in our catalog | Standard Color range |
| Macaron | Softer, lighter shades inspired by macaron colors | Macaron range |
| Metallic | A separate series, not another name for Macaron | Confirm the exact item and packing in your request |
These are our product names, not a rule that every supplier uses the terms in the same way. When you compare quotations, send the color reference you mean instead of relying only on a word such as “matte” or “pastel.”

Confirm existing codes and your chosen assortment
Tell us whether you want single-color bags or a mixed-color product, and specify the mix. In our experience, wholesalers often choose single colors, while supermarket programs more often include assortments. The final combination is your choice, not a mix we decide without you.
In the Macaron range, code 660 remains and uses the merged color image. Code 661 is no longer listed separately. The 5-inch Macaron range does not include codes 642, 611, 670 or 641. Do not build a 5-inch order by copying every color from a larger-size chart.
For the product itself, confirm weight as well as size. The 5 / 10 / 12 inch comparison explains why matching the size name alone is not enough.
Agree the reference before production
| Stage | What we use | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Early selection | Catalog codes and real product appearance photos | An exact screen-to-product shade match |
| Order approval | Your approved physical sample, or an inflated sample photographed beside the Pantone card | A universal numerical tolerance for all orders |
| Repeat order | The recorded previous specification, reviewed again before production | Permission to substitute a shade or size without confirmation |
Compare colors at a similar inflation level and under consistent lighting. A dark, uninflated balloon and a fully inflated balloon are not the same visual reference. If the match is critical for your brand, tell us before production so we can agree the sample and approval method.
Inside the factory, each color has its own raw-material recipe. Incoming materials are checked before use, and production follows our SOP to control consistency between batches. We also check color during daily batch inspections. This is our working method; it is not a promise that every batch has zero measurable difference.
Treat a new color as a separate production decision
If the existing colors do not meet your requirement, send a Pantone number or a physical sample. A newly matched color requires more than 1,000,000 balloons per color, all in the same size and weight. Different sizes or weights cannot be added together to meet that minimum.
That threshold is for a new color formulation, not for choosing or mixing existing catalog colors. Normal orders follow our US$5,000 order minimum and one-carton-per-color/specification rule. Keep the approved color reference with the packaging and reorder details so a future purchase does not depend on memory.
If the balloons will carry your logo, approve the balloon color and the printed artwork together. Our printed-balloon artwork guide explains why simple artwork and fewer ink colors are easier to reproduce consistently.
Is Standard Color the same as Matte Round?
In the AIHUA catalog, yes. Macaron is listed separately. We do not assume another supplier uses the same naming.
Can a website color image replace a sample?
No. It helps you shortlist colors. Final approval uses the physical sample you confirm or an inflated sample beside the Pantone card in a comparison photograph.
Can I combine two sizes to reach the new-color minimum?
No. More than 1,000,000 pieces per newly matched color must be the same size and weight.
Is 661 still available as a separate Macaron code?
No. The merged listing keeps code 660 and the selected former 661 image.
